Honeymoon is a once in life time experience & you wanna do it right! Nothing beats the feeling of being with your partner forever & celebrating it after the hectic rituals of the wedding. Several months are spent in planning the prefect wedding destination and then a perfect honeymoon! So here is one such exotic honeymoon location, so close to paradise that you wouldn’t wanna miss it — The pristine islands of Seychelles!
Located in the Indian Ocean, Seychelles is known for its picturesque beaches, soft white sand, plush hills and tropical climate. This intimate and incredibly romantic group of islands is the ultimate honeymoon destination as it’s not crowded, making it perfect for honeymooners. Well… no one wants to be disturbed, right?
Check out our recommendation for the top 3 islands in Seychelles which offer the best beaches, resorts, adventure sports and fabulous hospitality.
1. Praslin – It’s the second largest island in Seychelles & home to some of the biggest turquoise beaches and resorts. After landing at Mahe Airport, you can book a ferry or hop on a plane to reach Praslin. We personally recommend the plane for the fantastic experience & bird’s eye view of the magical land.
Anse Lazio, Anse Volbert & Cote D’or are some of the best beaches. Anse Lazio is the longest beach with palm trees, granite boulders and calm waters. It’s the ideal place for snorkelling with your partner. You can also enjoy an inner-island excursion to Curiese island where an early morning boat ride will drop you to this secluded island. Here, you can enjoy a delicious BBQ on the beach and spend quality time with tortoises too.
2. La Digue – Just a ferry boat away from Praslin lies the quiet & serene island of La Digue; a tiny but dreamy island that is oh-so-romantic!
La Digue has a handful of cars as it’s a small island where they have preserved their beauty by not allowing too many vehicles. But trust us; this makes it awesome for a passionate escapade! You have to explore the tranquility of this laid back beach haven on foot or bicycles. Yes, you read that right! Opt for the bicycle to get the sense of the natural beauty of La Digue & you won’t regret it.
At La Digue, you can indulge in local creole cuisines, find some of the best self-catering resorts to relax and enjoy long walks on the beach with your beau! If that was not enough, night time you will also get a spectacular view of the galaxy!
Plan a day to visit world famous Anse Source D’argent ranked as the Worlds Best Beach by National Geographic. Pop a bottle of champagne while relaxing and watching the sunset with your partner.
For accommodation, there are few luxury options which include Chateau St. Cloud & Le Domaine De L’Orangerie Resort or if you are looking for a cheap stay then go to Moonlight Beach Villa, that’s right opposite Anse Coco. The host Mr. Ceebay is friendly and will give you brilliant insights about the island.
3. Mahé – Home to coral reefs, Mahé is the largest island is Seychelles. Of course, it has talcum powder beaches with dense forests and an incredible weather! Beau Vallon, Petite Anse & Anse Soleil are the finest beaches where you can dive & snorkel. If you wish to shop local, then visit Victoria Market in the capital to get a feel of the city.
Mahé has plenty of hotels where you can enjoy ace hospitality. It hosts many 5 star Hotels, but one hotel that deserves a special mention is “The Bliss Hotel” in Vista Do Mar.
It’s a small boutique hotel with limited wifi (You don’t need it on your honeymoon, duh!) that’s located on the beach. The hotel has rustic appeal with a natural rock pool and a cosy sundeck where you will surely want to click Instagram worthy pictures.
